El Rey De Las Fritas traces its roots back to when Victoriano "Benito" Gonzalez and his wife Angelina "La Gallega" Gonzalez embarked on a Frita journey in Miami. However, the story begins earlier in Cuba, where they honed their craft of creating Frita Cubanas until 1968. Fueled by their unwavering passion and dedication, the couple, along with their son, left Cuba in 1973 and arrived in Miami, ready to share their culinary heritage with a new audience. In 1979, they officially opened the doors of El Rey De Las Fritas, an establishment that would soon become synonymous with authentic Cuban flavors in Miami.
El Rey De Las Fritas expanded its footprint across Miami, including vibrant neighborhoods like Hialeah, Bird Road, and Flagler. Today, their children, Mercedes and Yamil Gonzalez, proudly carry on the family tradition, ensuring that every bite at El Rey De Las Fritas embodies quality, flavor, and tradition. Their dedication has earned El Rey recognition in articles, events, television channels, and beyond, solidifying its status as a Miami Cuban Frita staple.
